Gas Options North and West Africa

The annual ‘Gas Options – North & West Africa Summit’ has been developed in response to the growing opportunities in the region, considering North Africa’s gas abundance, new discoveries in West Africa as well as the strategic importance of Gulf of Guinea’s resources. With gas widely considered the most affordable and clean base-load energy source, the ‘North & West Africa: Gas Options Summit’ focuses on North and West Africa’s booming gas markets. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), Gas 2017: Analysis and Forecast to 2022. New discoveries in the gas sector are stimulating sector growth and infrastructure development, as well as making new players emerging such as Senegal and Mauritania.

The summit is an opportunity to explore business opportunities within the transitioning energy ecosystem and the role of gas in the clean energy shift. It will address the complementary between gas and renewables, the potential of the Gas IPP procurement programme as an anchor for industrial growth and regional energy development, LNG Infrastructures within the ECOWAS and Maghreb region among other topics.
